The amended law that allows for same-sex and open-air marriages to take place in Jersey could come into force as early as July 1 this year.

Once the law has been considered by the Privy Council, it can be registered in the Royal Court.

If adopted, the legislation would then come into force at the beginning of July.

Islanders whose plans may be affected by the law are advised to consult the States Assembly website to check on the progress of the legislation.
