The States of Jersey has voted Senator John Le Fondre as the island's new Chief Minister.

Senator Ian Gorst was seeking re-election for a third term, but received 19 votes to Senator Le Fondre's 30 votes.

The new States members attended their first sitting this morning, where they voted electronically for their Chief Minister choice.
