Goalkeeper Callum Stanton will be a Guernsey FC player again next season after signing on to stay at Footes Lane.

He made 31 appearances for the club last term while on loan from Bournemouth, winning both the Young Player of the Year and Supporters Player of the Year awards.

Now an academy coach with the Cherries, the 20-year-old will travel back to play his football in the island and will be available for all of GFC's games.

Stanton is expected to start as Tony Vance's team play their only pre-season match for the Mike Thomas Memorial Trophy on Saturday.

Bostik Premier side Worthing are the visitors to Footes Lane for a 2:00pm kick-off.

The interesting thing about Cal is that he actually really enjoys playing for us. He's had offers to play in the UK which would have earned him decent money, but he really loved the club. He plays out from the back very, very well so he's got great qualities, and an outstanding shot stopper as well, one of the best in the league so we're very lucky.
