Hundreds of students in Jersey will be taught engineering when schools start again next month.

Teachers and engineers are planning a series of practical lessons to bring subjects such as maths and science to life.

The majority of Secondary Schools and almost half of Jersey's Primary Schools are signed up to the scheme.

It's being run by Skills Jersey in partnership with a UK organization, 'Primary Engineer'.

We're at very much boom time at the moment with the construction in Jersey and the built environment not just in the UK but certainly here, some really exciting projects that'll be undertaken coming up for the public and these young people are going to be our future leaders in these industries so we're really excited about starting that impetus with the younger generation.

– Dave Roworth, Skills Jersey

Skills Jersey are inviting other engineers and local companies involved in construction and design to get in touch with them if they'd like to take part.
