Guernsey's Planning Department has published new plans for a housing development at Pointues Rocques in St Sampsons.
The revised Draft Development Framework outlines a potential residential development within the Island Development Plan.
Last year 300 islanders, including leading politicians, staged a protest against the original plans to voice their concerns over traffic congestion and protection of green areas.
The planning authority says it took note of concerns and have suggested alternative plans to manage traffic.
But it also maintains that it cannot change the site's status as a designated housing area.
Opposing politicians argue that using up green spaces will affect quality of life.
