Police in Jersey are searching for a man who grabbed a woman on her way home and pulled her into a car park on Springfield Road.

The woman stopped the assault by using her keys and biting her attacker.

It happened on Sunday 9 September at around 2:15am.

Police are looking to speak to the driver of the taxi that passes the man in Rouge Bouillon, as seen on CCTV.

They are also appealing for the witnesses seen in a video to be standing on the other side of the road in Cheapside as the man walks up toward St John’s Road.

In separate but similar incident police are also looking to speak to witnesses after a woman in her 30s was followed home by a man after a night out in town.

It happened approximately between 2am and 2:30am on Sunday 23 September.

The woman walked from Mulcaster Street to Simon Place before turning left into St Saviour’s Road.

As she approached the Monterey Hotel in St Saviour’s Road at around 2:30am and the man asked her if she was okay.

The man continued to follow the woman to her home, when she challenged him before going inside.

The man then walked off.

He is described as being between 25 and 35 years old, approximately 5’8 tall and unshaven.

He is described as having dark hair, dark eyes and a tanned appearance and he spoke in broken English.

He was wearing a knee length navy mac, zipped up to the neck.

The woman is 5’1 with shoulder length blonde hair and was wearing grey trousers and a cream cropped leather jacket.

She was barefoot at the time.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen this man or witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time.

We remain open-minded to the possibility that both incidents concern the same offender and whilst thankfully incidents of this nature are rare in Jersey we would like to take this opportunity to advise the public to stay vigilant if walking alone at night.
