A Guernsey based international aid charity is calling on islanders to help survivors of the Indonesian earthquake and tsunami.

More than 1600 people are confirmed to have died and that number is expected to rise, while an estimated 200,000 people are in desperate need of food and shelter.

Sarah Griffith who started Bridge2 is coordinating a team on the ground in central Sulawesi and says more money is needed to help the people whose lives have been devastated by the disaster.

The charity is hoping to raise £50,000 to buy food, water, heavy lifting equipment and water purification systems.
