Parents in Jersey have launched a petition to ban nasal spray flu vaccines from being administered in nurseries.

They say they are worried about spraying them directly up their child's nose and say it should only be done by a medical professional.

But Dr Linda Diggle says the flu vaccine is good for the community:

Publicly funded flu vaccinations are currently available to:

  • Adults aged 65 or over
  • People aged 16 to 64 with a serious health condition
  • Pregnant women
  • All children aged 2 to 16
  • Children aged 6 months to 2 years with a serious health condition.
