Calls for more on-island support for people who want to change gender
Campaigners in the Channel Islands are calling for more local support to help people who want to change their gender.
At the moment, islanders can face a wait of 18 months for their first appointment to see a gender therapist in the UK, as there are none on-island.
Specialists believe this step could be provided locally, cutting waiting times and giving more emotional support to those wanting to transition.
