A man from Guernsey is taking matters into his own hands to try and rid the streets of cigarette butts by installing collection points in the island.
Andrew Munro from Pick it Up Guernsey is focusing on cigarette ends as they contain plastic, which smokers may not be aware of.
In the UK it is estimated enough cigarette butts are disposed of each year to fill seven Olympic swimming pools. Globally 4.5 trillion are thought to be released into the environment.
Mr Munro has created drop off points for islanders to take the cigarette butts to at the recycling facility and the harbour. The waste is then shipped off-island.
