Islanders in Sark prepare for Armistice anniversary with 'Field of Remembrance'

Credit: Sue Daly

Ahead of Remembrance Day this weekend, we are looking at different commemorations across the Channel Islands.

Caroline Robins, Helen Plummer and Lynda Higgins from Sark have crafted 200 ceramic poppies to mark the Armistice anniversary.

They took their inspiration from the poppies that adorned the Tower of London in 2014.

Sark's poppies will be placed around the Men of Sark memorial outside St Peter’s Church.

The memorial commemorates the 18 men from the island who died in the First World War.

Following the Remembrance service, each poppy will be for sale for £20.

The profits will go to the Royal British Legion's Sark branch.

You can reserve a poppy by emailing Helen Plummer on home.deliveries@monplaisirstores.sark.gg or Lynda Higgins le_vallon_dor@cwgsy.net
