Major work to repair a sea wall at Fermain in Guernsey will begin next Autumn.
The island's Environment Committee has answered concerns raised by the public over the future of the cliff pathway the wall supports.
Storms hit the island last week causing damage to the sea defences.
A running group is worried the pathway above what is now a large hole in the cliff will be closed for safety reasons.
But the Environment Committee are reassuring islanders work will be done to repair the wall next year.
