Elizabeth College named among top 100 cricket schools

Elizabeth College has been named among the best cricket schools in the UK by The Cricketer magazine.

It is the first time the Guernsey school has made the publication's Good Schools Guide, which recognises the quality of facilities, fixtures, and coaching.

Elizabeth College features alongside the likes of Eton, Wellington, and Millfield on the list.

More than 350 academic institutions submitted applications to be included, with 100 secondary schools and 50 prep and junior schools named in the guide.

We have up to 40 to 50 boys on a Saturday playing junior cricket, and then we have two teams in the weekend league and a team in the evening league. We also have a second eleven team that wants to get out and play, and they organise their own fixtures at times. We've just made it fun again. We've gone away from worrying too much about the results - they will come. The boys have been incredibly successful over the last few years, but it's just more about enjoying spending some time together, hanging out, and having fun.
