Melissa Alves wants to encourage other islanders with disabilities to achieve their dreams.

Nine of Jersey's best disabled sports athletes have been recognised at the island's Sports Association for the Disabled annual dinner.

Melissa was awarded the top prize - the Sports Personality of the Year.
