A young Guernsey musician has been accepted into the National Youth Orchestra in the UK.

17-year-old Jack Tostevin-Hall, who plays the oboe, faced fierce competition to gain his place.

He puts his success down to the Guernsey Music Service, which gave him the training and experience he needed to audition...

I think particularly with the music service, the tuition and training I've got through the individual instrumental lessons and through the Saturday music centre built up ensemble skills and I've learnt how to play in orchestras and bands and that's really been the main part that has really helped me to get through.
