A charity in Guernsey that was set up to support carers in the island has told ITV News it will be expanding its services in 2019.
Carers Guernsey started six months ago and provides practical and emotional help for people who are looking after loved ones.
In Guernsey it is estimated around 4,000 islanders are carers.
This week the charity has celebrated reaching its six month milestone with a festive drop in day, where Manager Alysa Martel revealed 2019 is going to be a busy year.
The charity will be expanding its range of services, which often helps islanders on a one to one basis, and start looking at options for peer support.
Staff members are planning to visit Alderney in the first few months of next year to take a closer look at the situation for carers in the island.
