Guernsey's Overseas Aid & Development Commission is donating £70,000 to help people affected by natural disasters and humanitarian crises this Christmas.
A donation of £40,000 will go to Tearfund to support their work in providing food aid in Yemen following the country's ongoing civil conflict.
Meanwhile an additional £30,000 will be added to the £75,000 appeal launched in October 2018 by the Disasters Emergency Committee after the the earthquakes and tsunami in Lombok and Sulawesi in Indonesia.
This donation will help support the work of humanitarian charities and NGOs to extend the Indonesian government-led response in the areas affected by the most recent tsunami in the regions bordering the Sunda Strait.
At least 430 people are thought to have been killed and more than 1,400 injured, while 128 are still missing.
It will help provide emergency shelter, safe water and sanitation,health care, emergency livelihoods and protection services.
