A Jersey politician wants the States to overturn the decision to build the new hospital on the current site.

Deputy Russell Labey is asking the government to take the redevelopment of the Gloucester Street site off the table.

That would mean writing off up to £38 million which has already been spent to get to this point.

It comes after the second design was refused planning permission on Monday, as an independent planning officer said the plan was too big for the area and not in keeping with the heritage.
