Wreckage from the plane carrying the footballer Emiliano Sala and pilot Dave Ibbotson has been found in the waters off Alderney.

It's been two weeks since the plane went missing. Both the families of those on board have been informed of the discovery.

A search team led by marine scientist David Mearns discovered it on Sunday morning using specialist sonar equipment.

The aircraft disappeared over the English Channel on January 21st after leaving Nantes in France for Cardiff.

Two seat cushions, which are thought to have come from the plane, were found last week.

Tonight our sole thoughts are with the families and friends of Emiliano and David.
