Hospital will not be built on St Helier parks: Jersey States adopt Constable Crowcroft's amendment

Jersey's States Assembly has adopted Constable Simon Crowcroft's amendment.

It means the new hospital will not be built on St Helier's green spaces.

These sites include:

  • People's Park
  • Lower Park
  • Victoria Park
  • Westmount Gardens
  • Parade Gardens

The result saw 24 votes for, and 22 votes against the amendment.

The States will now consider Deputy Russell Labey's proposition to rescind a build next to the existing one at Gloucester Street.
