A new ambulance is being unveiled in Jersey today as part of a nationwide project to donate to the St John Ambulance.

52 new vehicles have been funded in the Channel Islands, England and Wales by the Mark Benevolent Fund.

The ambulance is expected to provide a place to treat islanders at public events and to transport them to the emergency department.

This donation will enable members to continue to provide first aid cover at the many events across the island.

It is hoped that future donations will also provide treatment centres and support vehicles to the charity.

The vehicle will be blessed at midday on Saturday by the Dean of Jersey, The Very Reverend Mike Keirle.
