The GSPCA has officially opened its new Chapel of Rest and revamped Memorial Garden.

The animal charity helps over 1,000 pet owners each year, through the loss and death of their pets.

Owners will now have somewhere to spend the last moments with their pets and it will also provide a place to remember them.

The updated Memorial Garden has had more than £1,000 worth of greenery planted with the support of Le Friquet Garden Centre.

The manager of the GSPCA says the charity was very excited for the opening of the chapel and garden.

The number of people, businesses and groups that have helped us create what we now have for bereaved pet owners is incredible and words really do not justify the thanks we wish to convey to all that have helped.

– Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager

The charity is also looking into having heart shaped plaques for pet owners to remember their pets in the Memorial Garden.
