A review will begin into the progress that has been made since the publication of the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry's findings.

The Care Inquiry found there had been decades of abuse in Jersey's childcare system.

Members of the Panel delivered their recommendations following the Inquiry in July 2017.

In the run up to the two-year anniversary, Frances Oldham QC, Professor Alexander Cameron and Alyson Leslie will carry out an independent review and publish their findings by July.

It was one of the recommendations made by the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry.

We welcome this review and will work openly with the Panel to show the progress that has been made since the Care Inquiry made its important recommendations almost two years ago.

– Children’s Minister, Senator Sam Mézec

A public consultation will be held during March and April, public hearings in May and a final report by July 2019.

I want to hear if things are better for children, how things have changed since the Inquiry and what else needs to be done.

– Jersey’s Children’s Commissioner, Deborah McMillan
