Jersey Bulls to host League Two club in first match

Jersey Bulls FC will host League Two side Stevenage at Springfield in their inaugural match this summer.

The professional outfit, who are currently 13th in the division, will travel to the island for a pre-season friendly on Saturday 6 July.

It will be the Bulls' first test as they prepare to enter English football through the Combined Counties League, following the route taken by Guernsey FC.

The Green Lions also made their debut against league opposition, attracting a crowd of 1064 for their match against AFC Wimbledon in 2011.

Jersey Bulls could come up against local professional Kurtis Guthrie, who has made 28 appearances since joining Stevenage from Colchester last year.

They have appointed St Peter boss Gary Freeman as manager but are yet to announce any signings on the playing side.
