Boat owners are being warned about changes to travel between the Channel Islands and France if there is a no-deal Brexit.

Islanders would have to stop off at one of six designated ports to clear Customs & Immigration.

The ports in Normandy and Brittany are:

  • Cherbourg
  • Granville
  • Carteret
  • St Malo
  • Brest
  • Roscoff

After clearing customs, they could then freely move to other French ports.

The States of Guernsey says this information is based on advice Guernsey Harbours received from its colleagues in France, and highlighted that this arrangement has not yet been officially confirmed.
