Islanders are being asked if they could spare a few hours to help keep Guernsey's coast clean today.
La Société Guernesiaise has organised its Big Spring Beach Clean, starting at Grandes Rocques beach at 4pm.
The plan is to pick up plastic and other rubbish from the beach, the surrounding coastal paths, car parks and the Port Soif nature trail.
Appearing on ITV Channel earlier this week, organiser Laura Bampton found this collection of litter on Grandes Rocques beach within two minutes.
Laura says a lot of this comes from boats. Following a marine conference this year, the group is looking at how plastic waste from the fishing industry can be reduced.
Last year La Société Guernesiaise and the Guernsey Recycling group organised 12 beach cleans, collecting half a tonne of litter. During their first organised clean in January, 48 volunteers removed 350 kilos of rubbish from the coast.
