Animals at Jersey Zoo get an Easter surprise

Credit: ITV Channel

Animals at Jersey's zoo have been tucking into their own Easter treats this bank holiday weekend.

Eggs made of papier-mâché were filled with avocado, porridge and other animal friendly goodies.

Zoo Keepers say the challenge of finding the treat helps to stimulate the animals.

It's really good to stimulate the animals. Doing the Easter eggs, it's just another form of enrichment we do. We do lots of different things anyway, for the bears for example we'll do smears and things like that but hiding treats in something is just a lot better than having food in front of them, it just makes them work a little bit harder and it's a little bit more interesting for them.
