Thirteen Jersey schools are closed today due to industrial action and many more are being disrupted.

Teachers are walking out for eight days this month as part of an ongoing row over pay with the States Employment Board.

Unions met with the SEB over the past two days to try and reach an agreement, but none was found.

Members will gather at Jersey's Weighbridge at 12:45pm for a demonstration.

Despite talks going on for two days and into the evening on the day before the strike, it was not possible to reach an agreement with the representatives of the States Employment Board (SEB).
