Schools partially closed due to teachers' strikes

Primary and secondary schools across Jersey will be closed to certain year groups today as teachers walk out on strike for a second time.

The National Education Union is fighting for a better pay offer from the States Employment Board. Members are set to take strike action for 8 days this month.

Students taking exams this year will still be able to go to class.

Last week, thirteen Jersey schools closed due to industrial action and many more disrupted.

Primary schools affected:

  • d'Auvergne - closed to Reception, Y5, Y6.
  • First Tower - closed to Y1, Y3, Y4 (one class), Y5 (one class).
  • St Clement - closed to Nursery, Reception, Y1.
  • Bel Royal - closed to Nursery.
  • St Lawrence - closed to Y1, Y3 on Tuesday & Y2, Y3 on Wednesday.
  • La Moye - closed to Nursery, Reception, Y1, Y2 on Tuesday & Reception, Y1, Y2 on Wednesday.
  • Grouville - closed to Y1, Y2, Y3, Y4, Y5, Y6.
  • St John - closed to Nursery, Reception, Y1, Y2, Y3, Y4, Y5.
  • St Martin - closed to Reception, Y1, Y4.
  • Jersey College Prep - closed to Reception.

Secondary schools affected:

  • Grainville - closed to Y8, Y9, Y10 on Tuesday & Y7, Y8, Y9 on Wednesday.
  • ​Haute Vallee - closed to Y7, Y8, Y9, Y10 on Tuesday & Y7, Y8, Y9 on Wednesday.
  • ​Le Rocquier - closed to Y7, Y8, Y9.
  • ​​Les Quennevais - closed to Y7, Y8, Y9, Y10.
  • ​​Hautlieu - closed to Y10, Y12 & Baccalaureate.
  • ​Jersey College for Girls - closed to Y7, Y8, Y9, Y10.
  • ​Victoria College - closed to Y7, Y8, Y9, Y10, Y12.
  • Highlands College - open to all.
  • La Sente - closed to Y10.
  • Mont a'Labbe - open Tuesday, closed Wednesday for inset day.
