A Jersey politician has called for a vote of no confidence in the States Employment Board (SEB) - which sets the pay for civil servants.
Teachers in the National Education Union are striking again today in an ongoing row with the SEB over pay.
Deputy Geoff Southern says he has lodged a proposition as a last resort in the negotiations.
The SEB have failed to bring a final offer that teaching unions can put to their members to resolve the impasse, instead there is a promise of some undefined improvement in June. This yet again shows the absence of respect for teachers, and a refusal to engage in genuine negotiation that has marked this pay dispute.
His proposition will be debated by States members in June.
