Beau Sejour Leisure Centre in Guernsey has been rated as 'excellent' in a national awards scheme.

Quest is a UK sport activities award which looks at how effective leisure facilities are.

Beau Sejour had been banded 'very good' in 2017, but the new rating means it is in the top 13% of accredited leisure centres throughout the British Isles.

The scheme also looks at how well facilities follow health and safety guidelines and how well they are maintained and cleaned.

The assessment for the award took place in February with a mystery visitor going see the centre. That was followed by a two day course in April which was led by assessor David Monkhouse from Leisure Net.

The presentation of the centre, grounds and car park, especially the gym, male changing room, studio and café areas was exceptional...all of the staff who I came into contact with were very polite and always had a smile on their face...delivered an exceptional level of customer service throughout my visit.

The President of Guernsey's Committee for Education, Sport and Culture has congratulated the sports facility on achieving the recognition.

This is testament to the fantastic level of service and facilities the team consistently strive to deliver. For a small island community, it’s great to see Beau Sejour ranked in the top performing leisure centres throughout the British Isles, and represents a true reflection of the passion and pride all the team have in simply making lives better.
