Rory Boland, editor of consumer magazine Which? Travel, said: "It’s completely unacceptable for passengers to be regularly delayed."

"These delays aren’t just an inconvenience but can leave holidaymakers hundreds of pounds out of pocket because of missed connections, transfers and fines for picking up their hire car late."

A Jersey airport spokesperson suggested a number of delays are caused by the late arrival of aircraft which is out of Ports of Jersey control.

Jersey is a ‘destination’ airport, which means the majority of air services to and from the Island originate from another airport and any impact on the inbound service can impact the return service.

The ranking takes into account every scheduled and chartered flight from 24 major UK airports.
