Young people are still at risk of being kept overnight in police custody in Jersey.
That is the finding of a new Youth Justice Review.
It was launched in response to a care inquiry recommendation that the system should "treat young offenders as children first, and offenders second".
The report found that fewer young people are entering the criminal justice system for the first time, but those that are being detained are finding themselves socially isolated.
It also raised concerned that it is still possible for girls to be placed with adult female prisoners.
