Members of the National Education Union say a resolution to the ongoing row over pay could be reached this week.

It comes after eight days of strike action last month over the pay dispute with Jersey's States Employment board, which the union says is committed to a pay offer that would 'see teachers being forced to take a real terms pay cut of 3.5%'.

A new framework could be in writing by Friday and that this will then be put to union members on Monday to agree on.

– Ian Stevenson, NEU Regional Secretary

Further strike action has been delayed.
