Race Director, Matt Ebbrell told ITV Channel News he was delighted with how the event had gone and said the swim was tougher than ever before.

It's a great sport to be involved in and we've got elite athletes that are racing - taking part in championships throughout the year - through to people that it's their first time in a triathlon, so it's a really inclusive sport.

– Matt Ebbrell, Race Director
