Jersey's Tamba Park permanently closes

Tamba Park, Jersey's dinosaur adventure experience, has closed down and will not reopen in its current form.

The park closed earlier this year for refurbishment but today the owner Jonathan Ruff has told ITV News they are now looking for alternative use for the site.

A £12 million expansion plan to turn the family fun park into a holiday village was lodged in September 2016 but was rejected by the island's Environment Minister, Deputy John Young last summer.

The refusal came despite an independent planning inspector recommending that the plans should go ahead. Mr Ruff appealed the decision but was unsuccessful.

Staff have been told to start looking for new employment.

Tamba Park opened in 2014 and is well known for its adventure playground and dinosaur trail.
