Some ashes stored in Guernsey's La Foulon crematorium will need to be relocated, to make space for new cremators.

Ashes stored behind the plaques either side of the chapel will be moved to a new purpose built granite building next to the Garden of Rest, which is expected to be completed by August.

Property Services - which manages Le Foulon crematorium and grounds - says it would like to assure islanders that the work will be undertaken with the utmost respect.

Those who have family or loved ones buried in the existing location should have received a letter, but anyone who would like further information is invited to contact Nigel Le Sauvage on 01481 717000.
