A small girl cut her lip when she slipped as she entered the pool.

The paddling pool at Coronation Park has had to close just one day after opening for the summer.

It is because the child slipped over on the non-slip surface.

The Government of Jersey notified the public with a tweet on their twitter page.

The government has apologised for the accident and says the girl's injuries are not thought to be serious.

We are sorry for the accident that happened after the pools re-opening. It had been closed for refurbishment which included a new non-slip surface that needed balancing between being non-slip but not too abrasive. It has now been closed again as a precautionary measure while we investigate the cause to the accident. Growth, Housing and Environment are working with contractors to find a solution so that the pool can reopen as soon as possible.
