Stroke survivors and their families in Jersey will take part in a one mile charity walk today.

It is hoped the walk will give people an insight into the challenges stroke survivors live with.

The walk along the Esplanade is part of the nationwide event, Step Out for Stroke Survivors.

Step Out for Stroke is the perfect opportunity for stroke survivors, friends and families to take part in a walk together. A mile long walk is a considerable challenge for someone who has had stroke but hopefully the fact that with every step they take, they help raise awareness of a stroke and vital funds for our work in supporting those affected by stroke will be a huge incentive.

– Tracy O’Regan, Stroke Association fundraising and operations manager, Jersey

Registration is from 10am on the seafront, opposite the Grand. The walk starts at 11am.

It is the Stroke Association’s second fundraising event in Jersey this year following the Resolution Run in April.
