Plastic-free produce is being trialled at the Channel Islands Co-op's Grande Marché stores.

Shoppers are becoming more worried about the constant use of single-use plastic packaging according to the supermarket chain.

The trial is primarily on produce from local suppliers, and on own brand produce where a plastic-free alternative is available.

If the trial is successful, plastic-free produce could be rolled out to the smaller Co-op stores in the islands.

Last year, the supermarket chain announced it would phase out single-use plastic bags.
