Gorey Fete gets underway today

Gorey Fete gets underway today with live music, fairground rides and even a spaghetti eating competition.

It is one of Jersey's biggest annual events and will host the 'famous yard of ale'.

Gates open at 10:00am and the event is due to finish at 11:00pm.

Entry prices:

  • Adult entry (16+): £6
  • Child entry: Free

Here's what's planned:

  • 1pm - Royston's Flea Circus
  • 2pm - Bonny baby competition and sandcastle competition
  • 2.30pm - Jersey Skydiving demonstration
  • 3pm - Royston's Magic Show
  • 4pm - Hot Bananas choir and treasure hunt
  • 5.15pm - Live music stage
  • 7.30pm - Spaghetti eating competition
  • 8pm - Yard of ale competition

The night is expected to end with a firework display.

Organisers are urging islanders to support local charities by going along to the Fete. Last year £10,000 was raised.
