A blind woman and her guide dog were shouted at and grabbed in an incident on Greve d'Azzette beach.

The attack happened yesterday (19 August) between the Dicq Slipway and the slipway at Millard's Corner at around 11:50am.

A woman in her 40s was walking along the beach with her mother and her guide dog when she was approached by another woman, who appeared older, and who started shouting at them about their dog.

This woman then attempted to remove the dog from its harness by grabbing one of the dog’s legs. She was stopped by the mother of the dog owner.

The older woman continued to be abusive and went on to insult the dog owner about being blind. This woman is described as being of medium height, very thin with grey wiry hair and she was wearing a grey t-shirt with a black animal rights logo on it.

Anyone who may have seen this incident or who knows the identity of this woman is asked to contact police on 612612 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
