Poetry legend Pam Ayres stops off in Jersey on tour

Comedy poet Pam Ayres is in Jersey as part of a tour across the UK and Australia.

The 72-year-old will performing poems from her new book, Up in the Attic, across three nights at the Jersey Opera House.

During a career that has spanned over 40 years, she is one of the few authors who has had books in the Sunday Times bestseller charts in almost every decade since the 1970s.

Her last book, The Last Hedgehog, topped the list last year.

Some of her well-known works include The Works, With These Hands and You Made Me Late Again!

Making her first TV appearance in 1975 on talent show Opportunity Knocks, Ayres went onto appear on various TV and radio shows as well as on stage and performing before the Queen.

Her performances at the Opera House will take place from Thursday 22- Saturday 24 August.
