A Guernseyman has successfully swum for 24 hours continuously, raising more than £10,000 for local charities.

Naro Zimmerman completed the swim earlier this afternoon in aid of This Is EPIC and The Eleanor Foundation, which will each receive 50% of the funds.

He told us he was near to giving up around eleven hours in, but battled through a shoulder injury and fatigue with the help of painkillers, pringles and pizza.

It's been six months of planning, loads of support from the charity teams, and friends, coaches etc.

It's really good to get it done and more importantly we've far exceeded our fundraising amount - we're about £10,000 at the moment, which is pretty epic.
