Residents at a Guernsey care home will have to be rehoused after the provider announced it will close.

The States of Guernsey's Health and Social Care department says it was notified by the provider of Blossom Fields Residential Care Home of its intention to close the home at the end of October.

Social workers are currently speaking with residents and the Care Home Manager to understand their specific needs and help them and their families to make decisions about care with other providers.

The States says it cannot comment on the specific reasons behind the provider's decision, but that it is working hard to ensure that residents can be rehomed.
