Catching the bus in Guernsey can now be just a tap away, thanks to the introduction of contactless payments.

From today, bus services operated by CT Plus will accept payments from contactless cards (except American Express) or smart devices on the ticket machine reader.

Single tickets as well as one and two day passes can be purchased on the buses, but seven day passes will need to be bought from the Town Terminus Shop.

At this stage, Puffin passes cannot be topped up using the contactless services.

It is vital that we update and improve the services we offer in order to meet the needs of our community.

With the increase in use of smartphones and smartwatches, we felt it was important to investigate and implement contactless payments.

It is anticipated that this new payment method will encourage more people to use the bus service by reducing reliance on the need to carry cash.
