A Jersey midwife who runs hypno-birthing antenatal classes has teamed up with a local photographer to promote postpartum bodies.

May Bourne and Sophie Darwin are leading the campaign to raise awareness of how women's bodies change when they have had a baby.

20 new mums have signed up to be photographed with their babies, hoping to send out a strong message that they do not need to 'bounce back' and that they should be proud of themselves and their bodies

The postpartum period begins straight after the birth of a child as a mother's body returns to a non-pregnant state.

That also includes hormone levels and the uterus size going back to normal.
