Jersey Reds Athletic prop Ewan Davies has signed for Scottish Super 6 side Ayrshire Bulls after impressing on trial.
The 20-year-old has agreed a season-long deal to play in the country's new semi-professional competition.
Having only taken up the sport at 16, Davies has been playing for Jersey’s top amateur side for two years and started last season’s Siam Cup against Guernsey.
The six-team league is the new top tier of domestic rugby in Scotland and aims to develop talent for the full-time professional game.
Ayrshire Bulls begin their inaugural campaign at home against Heriot’s Rugby on Sunday 10 November with the competition set to conclude with play-offs and finals next March.
