Jersey BMX star Alex Coleborn is the new national champion in BMX Freestyle Park after topping the podium at British Cycling's inaugural event.

The first national championships staged by the sport's governing body took place at Adrenaline Alley in Corby, where Coleborn - a former CI Sports Personality of the Year nominee - is based.

His score of 92.00, which he set in the first of his two runs, was enough to see him come out on top in a field containing several fellow GB Cycling Team riders.

Coleborn - who won silver at the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships in China in 2017 - followed it up by taking the title in the British Open C1 contest, held on the same weekend.
