A Jersey construction firm is working to make talking about mental health as easy as physical health.

The team at Rok Construction have been receiving specialist training from Mind Jersey, including seminars and mental health first aid training.

It comes after statistics revealed the industry to be one of the worst for suicide rates, with one worker a day taking their own life in the UK.

Kevan Nelson from Rok says he wants saying "I'm struggling today" to become as easy as saying "I've twisted my ankle" - a change he believes could save lives.

We can't stand on a tool box and start to tell people how they should feel and how they need to react.

Everyone's different and I think as long as we appreciate that, I think we can eventually start to get to more people and it won't take long for people to start to talk.
